Setup & Configuration
Detailed walkthrough of the 7-step onboarding process
Step 0: Welcome & Overview
Get an overview of the setup process and what you’ll accomplish. The onboarding wizard guides you through each step with visual progress tracking.
Step 1: API Documentation
Import your API specification by providing a Swagger/OpenAPI URL or uploading a spec file. StrikeUp validates the spec and auto-detects all available endpoints.
Step 2: Authorization Configuration
Set up authentication for your APIs. Supported methods include OAuth 2.0, API keys, JWT tokens, and custom authentication schemes. Credentials are encrypted and stored securely.
OAuth: Provide client ID, secret, and authorization URLs
API Key: Specify header name and key value
JWT: Configure token generation and refresh logic
Custom: Define custom authentication flows
Step 3: Generation Progress
StrikeUp processes your API specification and generates intelligent tools for each endpoint. Real-time progress updates show which endpoints are being analyzed. This typically takes 30-90 seconds.
Step 4: Error Handling
If any issues occur during generation (invalid spec, unsupported endpoints), you’ll see detailed error messages with suggestions. You can retry generation or start over with a corrected specification.
Step 5: Tool Selection
Review all generated API tools and select which ones to activate. You can enable/disable individual endpoints or use bulk actions. This gives you granular control over what the co-pilot can access.
Enable specific endpoints for different use cases
Disable sensitive operations if needed
Test individual tools before enabling all
Update selections anytime from the dashboard
Step 6: Success & Widget ID
Setup complete! You’ll receive your unique widget ID and embed code. Copy the script tag and paste it into your application. Your co-pilot is now live and ready to use.
State Persistence
The onboarding process automatically saves your progress. If you close the browser or navigate away, you can resume from where you left off.
